NJ WATERSAVERS
Rain Barrel Education-Art Program for Youth
This program engages youth by combining an educational and art component. It is an ideal program to have school teachers, church groups, 4H staff or a community group conduct for youth to inform them about stormwater management and water conservation, while also allowing them to express themselves though art.
Lawnside Public School Summer Session
During this exercise one person should present a demonstration on what nonpoint source pollution is, what a rain barrel is, and how rain barrels can help reduce stormwater runoff. It would also be beneficial to have a person with an artistic background teach the youth about the basics of painting a rain barrel.
